MAC Martial Arts Club was founded in Calgary in 1998 with a single purpose: to teach authentic Filipino Martial Arts the way it was meant to be taught โ from teacher to student, generation to generation.
We are not a chain. There is no franchise curriculum, no belt-mill, no upsell. Every class is led personally by Guro Lawrence Macaraeg, and every student trains alongside people who take this craft seriously.
Filipino Martial Arts โ Arnis, Kali, Eskrima โ is one of the most practical, adaptable, and historically rich fighting systems in the world. It begins with weapons and works backward to the empty hand. It teaches distance, timing, and awareness in a way few arts do.
We build champions. Our students have won Provincial and National titles in WKC and WKU, and the team has been invited to represent Canada at WMAC. Competition is always optional โ but the pathway is real.
Our home is a working dojo in Northeast Calgary. Our motto is simple: more than just martial arts.
Our athletes have earned Provincial and National titles in WKC and WKU, and are qualified to represent Team Canada. Guro Lawrence is a 2026 WKC Team Canada Finalist and has been invited to compete under WMAC.
